"Return" is a work that depicts the story of Myung-soon, who returns home with deep wounds and disillusionment after leaving. The home she returns to is a place with a warm mother, but the world still constrains people with money and desire. The calculations hidden behind the director's favor, the mother's painful persuasion, and Myung-soon's cynicism and despair, which see through everything yet cannot easily escape, weigh heavily on the entire work. This novel sharply illustrates how a woman is wounded and crumbles amidst the greed and hypocrisy of society, making it a significant piece of modern Korean literature.
