"Malro" is a work that depicts the tragic lives of Daecheol, a man who has become an opium addict at the end of his downfall and corruption, and Sunyoung, who cannot ultimately turn her back on him and takes care of him. Despite the world's coldness, poverty, betrayal, and wounds, Sunyoung does not abandon her compassion and grace for one person and stays by his side until the end. This work goes beyond simple tragedy, deeply illustrating the corruption and salvation of humanity, as well as sacrifices and mercy that are difficult to explain through understanding, making it a significant piece of modern Korean literature.
