The naked female professor

by Umino Jūzō · 2026-03-31

It was at that moment.

“Ririn, ririn, riiiiin.”

Suddenly, an alarm bell rang with a clear sound, instantly brightening the air in the sealed room.

“They’ve come, they’ve come, they’ve finally come. Someone is knocking on the coffin lid!”

The alarm bell was set to ring when the coffin lid was knocked. Now, help was coming. Following that, a terrible vibration was felt. Finally, this coffin was about to be opened.

As his excitement subsided a little, Furuhata felt a strong curiosity about who had come to open this coffin. It was approaching the moment the door to the sealed room he was in would open, further fueling his curiosity.

The moment the door burst open, a person leaped in from the dim outside.

“Eh!”

Furuhata cried out in surprise. It was because the visitor, the first he had seen since his revival, was completely naked. Literally stark naked, and moreover, the visitor was a woman of discernible age. Furuhata turned bright red with embarrassment. However, far from blushing, the woman stood calmly before Furuhata.

“Associate Professor Furuhata. Is that right?”

“Yes, that’s right. I am Furuhata. Thank you for opening the door.”

“It is a great pleasure for me to have discovered humanity that lived in the world a thousand years ago in this way. I found your records when I was destroying the air defense plan for Sector 199, and they were inside a long stainless steel pipe.”

“Ah, so that was it.”

Furuhata recalled that his friends had once placed his buried records in two hundred secure tubes and buried them underground in various places or displayed them in museums.

“And what is your name?”

“Me? I am Chita, Chief Professor of Archaeology at Khabarovsk University.”

“Eh, Chief Professor! Excuse me, but to be a chief professor at such a young age, that’s amazing.”

To Furuhata, who expressed his surprise frankly, Professor Chita said with a laugh.

"Hohohoho. What youth are you speaking of? I'm celebrating my nine hundred third birthday this year."

"Eh, so you're nine hundred three years old? That's very hard to believe."

She still possessed the youthful appearance of a woman in her late teens or early twenties, yet to be nine hundred three years old was something he simply couldn't accept. Could such a long-lived person truly exist?

"Hohohoho. When you say such things, I am very pleased. It's as if I can clearly see before my eyes what kind of intelligence humans a thousand years ago possessed, and it's very informative. However, I shouldn't be the only one enjoying myself. For your sake, I shall quickly tell you about the common knowledge of what the world is like today, a thousand years from now."

Saying that, Professor Chita began to speak, stroking her blonde hair. It was a story about how humanity had conquered the god of death nine hundred years ago. In other words, humans no longer had to die. What a great discovery that was.

The reason for this was that research in human physiology had advanced, and all diseases could now be diagnosed by electricity and cured with electrical therapy. People with bad hearts could immediately have them replaced with artificial hearts. People with high blood pressure could have their blood vessels completely replaced in about half a day. Therefore, if one did not want to die, one would never die.

However, at the time of this astonishing medical advancement, artificial organs were extremely expensive and made of metal, making them quite heavy. As a result, people who had artificial organs installed became unable to walk. If three organs—such as the heart, lungs, and kidneys—were replaced, the total weight initially became about three times a person's body weight, making it impossible to walk alone. To move around town by oneself, one had no choice but to remain in a car.

However, that is no longer the case. I can walk more and more. This is because the artificial organs have become very small and light by using pressure-resistant artificial flesh instead of metal.

"So, look at my body. It's not strange at all, is it? And I can move so lightly."

Professor Chita demonstrated by moving her limbs in front of Furuhata like a review girl. Furuhata had to widen his eyes in new surprise.

"So, you, at 903 years old, are living so long thanks to artificial organs after all?"

"Of course, that's right."

"Wow, I'm surprised. You can't tell from the outside where those artificial organs are. So, the artificial organs have become much lighter and smaller. But there's something strange. Professor Chita, aren't you teasing me?"

"Why would you say such a thing? I'm not teasing you at all."

"But isn't it strange? If you had such artificial organs installed, there should be surgical scars on your chest and abdomen. However, as I see it, your body is as beautiful as a virgin of nineteen or twenty. There isn't even a needle-prick mark. Isn't this very strange?"

Hearing that, Professor Chita smiled as if pitying the antiquity of Furuhata's mind and said,

"Mr. Furuhata, surgical techniques were completely perfected 950 years ago, and they no longer leave scars. However, the absence of scars on my body is not due to old surgical techniques; it's because I'm wearing artificial skin, which means there are no scars."

"Huh, artificial skin, you say?"

"In other words, it's similar to artificial flesh. Since it's artificial, I can tear it off and replace it with a new one anytime."

"Ah, I see."

Furuhata was dumbfounded. He had been blushing at Professor Chita's naked body, but of course, there was no shame in artificial skin.

"Then, if you'll excuse me, your current body is largely different from your true body that was born from your mother and grew up in the past, isn't it?"

"Well, that's not far from the truth."

"Isn't it just your brain, skeleton, and facial features that remain as you were in the past?"

"No, that's not it."

"Then, is there more that remains?"

"No, it's the opposite. The facial features you just mentioned are also different. To be honest, I wasn't born very beautiful. My forehead protruded, my eyes were sunken, my mouth was large, and my nose was crooked. So, I had my entire face replaced. I looked at a catalog of faces and had it changed to the one I liked best. Nothing troubled humanity in the past as much as the beauty or ugliness of faces. But when you think about it, people back then were foolish. The beauty or ugliness of a face arises from the shape and arrangement of its constituent elements, such as the eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, and teeth. If the eyes are sunken, you just need to implant flesh there. That's not a major surgery. Especially after artificial flesh and artificial skin became available, ugly people increasingly had their faces corrected and became handsome men and beautiful women. Shall we go out into the city now? I'm sure you won't find a single ugly man or woman."

"Oh, —"

Furuhata was speechless and couldn't find the words to continue. He had thought that human beauty and ugliness had dominated 30,000 years of human history, but now, hearing that faces could be changed as much as one wished, he could only sigh.
