Chapter 11-2

by Han Yong-un · 2026-08-25

“I'm sorry, but please give me just one injection.”

“Where is the injection? We are also short on supplies.”

Sun-young was taken aback by the unexpected request.

“That would be the case. There can't possibly be any leftover injection medicine.”

“If there were any left, we would keep it for ourselves, so there’s no way we would give it to others.”

“Also, asking for someone else's injection medicine is shameless.”

“But I’m not trying to get an injection to live longer.”

“I am someone who will not survive the night.”

“However, there are a few things I must tell you.”

“In this state, I cannot speak, so I need to get an injection to be able to talk. Phew.”

The woman seemed to lack the strength to say more and lowered her head.

“I don’t know what you mean, but if you have something to say, just go ahead.”

“I have no injections to give. And what could I possibly have to say?”

Sun-young found it even more strange.

“No, I have committed a sin that weighs heavily on my heart for a lifetime.”

“If I die like this, even my spirit will become a restless soul, so I want to speak my mind before I die.”

“No matter how difficult it is for you, please give me just one.”

“If I die without speaking, I will go to hell even after death.”

The woman's face revealed a genuine plea for help.

“To think that someone I have never known in my life has committed a sin that weighs heavily on their heart, what does that mean?”

Sun-young looked into her face and felt uneasy, wondering if she might be insane.

“No, you wouldn’t understand.”

“Just take a chance and listen to me. Oh, I’m going to die.”

“What if I die without being able to say this? Oh dear, oh dear.”

The woman began to foam at the mouth and seemed about to collapse.

“Oh my, what is happening?”

Sun-young was more worried about what would happen if she died there than the thought of listening to those words.

Determined to bring her back to her senses and send her somewhere, she hurriedly took out the syringe she had kept and administered a dose.

“Huh-yu.”

After a while, the woman regained her senses and spoke.

“Oh my, thank you. Even until the point of dying, I’m still a burden…”

Then she calmed down a bit and called out to Sun-young again.

“Hello.”

“Yes.”

Sun-young looked at her with a somewhat unfamiliar expression.

“Don’t you know who I am?”

“How would I know? How could I possibly know?”

“I suppose so. Given my current state, it’s no wonder you wouldn’t recognize me. Do you really not know me at all?”

“I truly don’t know.”

Sun-young examined her face closely.

“Don’t you recognize my voice?”

“I don’t recognize your voice either.”

“How could my voice possibly remain intact?”

Then she collected her thoughts again and asked.

“You are Sun-young, right?”

The woman tried to smile weakly with her powerless lips.

“How do you know?”

Sun-young, with her eyes wide open, waited for a response.

“Yes, I do. But do you really not recognize me at all?”

“I don’t recognize you at all. Who are you?”

“Huh-yu!”

The woman, with tears welling up in her eyes, swallowed and spoke.

“Would you know if I said I’m Un-ok?”

“Un-ok? Who is that?”

Sun-young was surprised but doubted again.

The hot weather had become slightly cooler again.

“You don’t know Un-ok? It’s been so long that you’ve forgotten her name.”

“You don’t remember Kim Un-ok, who lured you to the Song family’s house?”

The woman spoke as if she was hurt by Sun-young not recognizing her.

“Yes, I know that Un-ok. But what about Un-ok?”

“What do you mean, what about Un-ok? I’m talking about that wretched Kim Un-ok who lured you away.”

The woman cried and then sobbed.

“You are Un-ok?”

Sun-young did not believe it even while looking at her face.

“You probably wouldn’t recognize me.”

“My face has changed due to illness, and now I look like a ghost, so how could you recognize me?”

“I recognize you. Your pretty and kind-looking face is still the same.”

“I’ve known it was you for a long time. I’ve been here since early summer.”

“You may not have known it was me, but I knew from the beginning that it was you.”

“I wanted to acknowledge it earlier and confess the sins I committed, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.”

“Now that I am about to die, my feeling of regret is growing stronger,”

“and I am worried that if I don’t say anything, I might incur a greater sin in the next life, so I want to tell you before I die.”

Then she took a deep breath.

“Ah! So you really are Ms. Un-ok?”

Sun-young felt as if she were dreaming.

“Yes, I am Un-ok, so they call me Un-ok. If I weren’t Un-ok, how would I know you?”

“Then how did Ms. Un-ok end up like this? It’s so pitiful.”

Sun-young frowned.

“I received retribution for the sins I accumulated against you, and that’s how I ended up like this.”

“How much have you resented me all this time?”

The woman shed tears again.

“What do you mean by that? What sin did you commit against me, and why would I resent you?”

Even as Sun-young said this, she guessed that Un-ok was referring to the incident where she led her to Song.

“Yes, I will gradually tell you. I will confess all my sins without leaving any out.”

The woman seemed to think about something again and then opened her mouth.

“You know that I lured you to Song, right?”

“Is there really a need to say that I lured you here? I came because I wanted to.”

“You might think that way. But if I hadn’t lured you, would you have ended up here?”

“Everything that happened back then was orchestrated by me.”

“The fact that Song came to you was my doing, and the reason you came here was also because I lured you.”

“But that’s something we both know, so there’s no need to elaborate,”

“You don’t know why I ended up luring you here, do you?”
